matt has picked up his guitar again, after a long hiatus. it helps that we have hung them on the wall and you have to walk past them everyday. aubrey likes to sit and stare at him when he plays...usually she clasps her hands in front of her (or sucks on them, one or the other). on this particular day she was a little sleepy and couldn't pay attention for very long.

the best laid plans...

there are lots of things you say before you become parents... "i will NEVER..." "my child will..." "when i have children..." and of course our favorite serving of crow.... "i will NEVER give my child a pacifier." i guess what we are learning is that there is a time and a place for everything. thankfully she doesn't need it go to sleep and we don't have to pry it from her mouth. she actually not very good at it at all. most of the time she sort of knaws on it for a while before she figures it out. in any event, we would like to encourage all new parents out there.... those sayings, those plans -- throw them out... parenting is never exactly what you expected.

WOOD!

that's another one of those freaky words... woood... sounds funny. wood. anywho strange weather we have been having. one day it's sixty and the next morning brrrrrr. so naturally we are very glad that we now have our wood stove up and running. it makes our litte room quite cozy.

it's a valentines day miracle!

just the other night "crazy" came over and brought us this hat she made for aubrey. so naturally it has become part of her valentines day attire.

in other news...last night aubrey slept from ten oclock till about six am.... praise the Lord! of course maybe that's just because she was nervous about having to get her shots the next day. melissa took her today while i was at work. ( i lucked out because i didn't have to see my poor baby get stuck four times in a row).

can you believe how big our little girl is getting already. i looked back over our old posts and she is so different from the little baby that we brought home. guess this is what people meant by "it will go so fast". i am trying so hard to treasure everyday, because i know that there won't ever be another one like it again.
